For the past 18 years a group of members from
the Holmes Road Church of Christ in in Lansing, Michigan dedicated their
lives to serve the Lord through the school El Buen Samaritano. They
decided it was time to pass it on to a Church who was eager and
enthusiastic to serve in this great ministry. They chose
Metro Church in
Winter Springs, Florida. Metro is well known for its passion
to serve the community and God’s people around the world.

Our first task was to build the school playground. The
playground was designed by a member of the Holmes Road Church and was
shipped to the school early in the year. We also brought in with us school
supplies donated by all the members at Metro. Even ROC, the children's
ministry at Metro
Church pitched in and made gift bags of school
supplies that we gave to the students.
Building the playground captured all the time and days
we were there. It was hard work, but well worth it. We were blessed to
have engineers, builders, construction workers and a handful of strong men
willing to share their talents to the work of Jesus Christ.
To
say the children were excited about the playground is an understatement.
The entire week they waited anxiously, but patiently for the day they
could enjoy and play with their new attraction. More than anything they
were delighted to have met us and welcomed us in their hearts.
The work the missionaries
from Michigan have done is outstanding. We are grateful the school being
handed to us is running smoothly. With the plans for expansion, there is
so much that still needs to be done. We are already formulating our plan
for years to come. Our next trip is scheduled for the spring of 2004. We
need all your support and helping hands to make this ministry a success.
You’ll be surprised how rewarding this could be, not only to the children,
but the town of Catacamas, to you and most of all to our God.
