All restaurants listed below are
just a mile from the hotel. The following are the different local restaurant we
enjoy:
Chinese Restaurant
Excellent food with huge portions. We ordered dinner for 10 even though we were
17 people and still had several platters of food left over.
The chicken cashew is especially good with more
cashews that you could ever dream to have. Cashews grow on the bottom side of a
pear-like fruit. The locals eat the fruit and then discard the nut. Good for the
Chinese Restaurant business! Other selections were Pepper steak, Chop Suey,
Stir fried rice, and Wonton soup.
Prices range from 50 to 122
Lempiras ($3.00 to $7.00)
Ace de Oro
Excellent rating with open air dining. Very quaint restaurant with pet deer you
can feed, oops don’t tell them! Service was slower than other places we dined,
but worth the wait. Some selections were Giant Tacos, Enchiladas, Chicken,
Lobster Soup, Pork, Beef or Chicken K-bobs, other seafood items and plenty of
appetizers.
Prices range from 80 to 130 Lempiras ($5.00 to
$8.00)
Hamburger Deli
This very neat
hamburger restaurant is owned and operated by Oscar and his wife. Their home
sits right behind the seating area. The restaurant offers a play area for kids,
which included a big Little Tykes play set and tables where they can eat. They
only served hamburgers and were offered in value meal style French fries
included. Oscar graduated from the School of The Good Samaritan and was thrilled
we came to see him. He attributes His love of God and his success in business to
his early teaching at the school. The hamburger and French fries were
delicioso!
Prices
range from 20 to 40 Lempiras ($1.50 to $3.00)
Taki Mex
Good fast
Mexican food which is designed more for a lunch although we ate there for
dinner. Small portions, more ala carte fashion with inexpensive prices.
Prices range from 35 to 70 Lempiras ($2.00 to $4.00) |
